You and I both know that dinner rolls stuffed with bacon and cheese brings a whole new level to the dinner roll game.
Frankly, once you introduce these rolls into your world you will never be able to rewind and take it back. Always and forever your family and friends will see dinner rolls and think about bacon and cheese.
Try using Rhode’s Frozen Bread Dough to make doughboys in your AirFryer! Yep, it works and is super tasty!
The beautiful thing is how dang easy it is to make these gorgeous rolls. Use frozen dinner rolls from Rhodes Bak-N-Serve (I keep a GIANT bag in my freezer to have on hand!). Honestly, these rolls are SO good and easy and just as good as Grandma’s.
No shame in heading to the freezer section! Especially if you save the time to add bacon and cheese. In the game of priorities, bacon and cheese always win.
Take your rolls out of the freezer the night before and let them rise, covered in plastic wrap, in the fridge overnight.
Usually that is enough time to see them rise to at least double their size. I mean, risen bread is a beautiful thing! If you happen to find that your rolls haven’t risen but they are thawed…don’t fret. You can still move right along to the next step without having to keep waiting.
Gently create a bit of a nest in that risen dough. The little pockets you create will be where you stuff that delicious cheese and bacon.
Try stuffing the rolls with other combos like ham & cheese, pepperoni & olives, jalapeno & cheddar, and the list could go on…
I recommend a hard white cheese with a strong flavor like Asiago or Parmesan. And, of course, crispy bacon crumbles!
After you have stuffed your rolls with the cheese and bacon, drizzle melted butter over the top. This helps to bring good color, flavor, and helps them rise a second time.
Note: if you are using these rolls for dinner, adding minced garlic or garlic powder to the butter would be yummy! I wouldn’t recommend it for breakfast, however.
Cover them and let them rise a second time…about 45 minutes. You can speed up this process by being sure that you have them in a warm location (but not hot!). If you put a warm damp towel under the pan, that also helps speed it up.
All that fresh parsley adds so much color and freshness! The perfect combo for crispy bacon, salty cheese, and soft rolls.
Yummy, yummy, yummy! I like to serve these up with scrambled eggs for brunch on the weekends. Although last night we had these with pasta. AND leftovers for breakfast this morning ;).
Breakfast, lunch, or dinner…these rolls are gorgeous and totally easy to make with simple to find ingredients!
