A deliciously simple recipe, this peanut butter pie is no-bake and can be made in the classic fluffy version (with whipped topping and milk) or in my personal favorite…full of rich peanut butter flavor! Perfect dessert to share with a friend over a cup of coffee!

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Just in case there was any doubt about my love for my coffee machine I wanted to clear it up…

I LOVE my coffee machine. Seriously, I go to bed and tell my husband that I can’t wait for the morning and that first cup of coffee.

True story.

This particular coffee maker is the NEW Mr. Coffee® Easy Measure 12 Cup Programmable Coffee Maker (an Editors Pick at the 2019 Good Housekeeping Housewares Show) and it helps me make the perfect cup of coffee even when I’m still fighting off morning sleepiness with it’s color coded system.

In the morning, before my coffee…I NEED color coded systems :).

See! Yellow is my color. Every morning I just follow the yellow color. Sleepy? Yes, I sure am. But that’s A-okay because yellow is my color. It’s all good.

Yellow for the amount of coffee.
Yellow for the amount of water.

And thank God for the pause function so I can sneak that first cup of coffee while I am making breakfast.

Mr. Coffee® Easy Measure Coffee Maker is my personal little coffee machine. Yellow is my personal color ;). My husband’s is purple, by the way. He always makes WAY more coffee than I do.

BLUE.

When we have friends over for pie and coffee then blue is our color. And oh man do I LIVE for the days of Blue color coffee!!

This peanut butter pie is so easy to make that while your Mr. Coffee® Easy Measure Coffeemaker is doing it’s job of making your coffee in the tastiest way possible…you can get on with your life and make this pie.

This pie takes about as much time as it takes for that delicious pot of coffee…hardly any.

It’s fast, full of creamy peanut butter flavor. And ALWAYS a favorite with family and friends. I’ve included the recipe for the version I love (a bit thick and full of peanut butter flavor!) and the more popular, fluffy version!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 8oz pkg whipped topping for the fluffy version, use 16oz of whipped topping
  • 1 prepared crust I make a pretzel crust but graham cracker crust works great, as well.
  • 1 8oz pkg cream cheese, softened optional (I rarely use this but use this for the fluffy version)
  • 1 cup milk optional (use this for the fluffy version)
Check out our Kitchen Reference Guide for help with unfamiliar terms.

Instructions

  • Beat the peanut butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • For the fluffy version of the peanut butter pie, add the cream cheese and milk, beat well.
  • Fold in the whipped topping (if you don't use cream cheese and milk this will be a bit hard to do…that is normal).
  • Spread the mixture into the prepared crust.
  • Chill until ready to serve.

Can I use natural peanut butter for this pie?

Absolutely! In fact, I’ve successfully made this with almond butter!

You choose not to use cream cheese and whipped topping in your version. Does that change the flavor?

For sure! My version has a much, much, stronger peanut butter flavor. The biggest thing that is changed, however, is the texture. Beating the cream cheese and milk with the peanut butter and sugar makes for a much fluffier pie filling. My version is almost like a cookie dough texture. It’s the version I’ve grown up with and still make. But, it might not be familiar to you.

What do you serve with peanut butter pie?

Coffee, of course! A good cup of coffee cuts the sweetness of this pie and makes a perfect treat!
