Use your air fryer and pantry ingredients to make a delicious and simple homemade granola great for a healthy and fast breakfast the whole family loves!

a jar full of homemade granola made in the Air-Fryer

We eat a ton of granola around my house and gosh but that stuff is expensive! And full of sugar. Homemade granola is my preference and I’ve adapted my favorite recipe to my Air-Fryer. The result? Fast, easy, and utterly delicious homemade granola that is easily adaptable to the ingredients I have on hand.

Once you try this recipe you’ll never buy granola again. Pinky promise.

ingredients for Air-Fryer granola

Key Ingredients:

  • Oats. Because oats are one of the key ingredients of granola so use a good quality version. Rolled is the best choice for homemade granola.
  • Maple syrup/honey. Either maple syrup or honey works just fine to use as a sweetener and completely depends on your particular preference.
  • Vegetable/ neutral flavored oil. Don’t use olive oil for granola. You need an oil that handles a high heat and doesn’t carry any flavor. Veggie or Canola would be best.
  • Almond butter. Peanut butter or another nut butter would work, as well. I find almond butter to have great flavor, texture, and nutrition value.
  • Brown Sugar. Brown sugar brings a bit of sweetness and helps provide the glaze that coats the granola.
  • Seeds. I’m using pumpkin and chia seeds in this granola. Sunflower seeds also work great. Use what you have available.
  • Vanilla. You need a good dash of vanilla to add to the flavor of this granola.
  • Salt. It is tempting to skip the salt in homemade granola…don’t. You need the salt to help bring out all the other flavors. Just a bit will do the trick.
  • Dried cranberries/ craisins and raisins. Use your favorite versions to add dried fruits. Skip the sweetened versions, if possible.

Tools needed:

  • Air Fryer. If you haven’t yet gotten an Air Fryer I recommend this one. You’ll use it for so many things!

Get ready for the Air-Fryer:

  • Mix up the maple syrup, oil, nut butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract to create a paste.
  • Add the oats, and seeds to the almond butter paste. Don’t worry about the clumping of oats and pumpkin seeds because it is completely normal.

Cook it in the Air-Fryer:

  • Place parchment paper into the air-fryer basket to prevent sticking of granola. Add granola to the basket and air-fry mixing every 5 minutes, or so.
  • Once the granola is completely cooled and has crisped up, add the stir-in ingredients such as dried cranberries, raisins, coconut chips, and chocolate chips.

Freeze & Store

  • Store in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 3 weeks.
  • Freeze cooled granola in a freezer bag with all of the air squeezed out. Freeze for up to 3 months. Let it sit overnight to thaw before using.

Serve your granola with yogurt, milk, fruit, or in a breakfast parfait. It is perfect to sprinkle on top of ice cream, cheesecake, or a bowl of fruit.
